Desperate for a session after all the DIY in last few weeks I got up early in the hope to catch the morning breeze. I was rather worried on the way down to the coast as there was not a breath showing anywhere. Arriving at the eastury, I nearly cried when I battled to open my car door. Al was comming off the water just as I arrived and the wind metre was registering gusts up to 30. After some advise from Al and cursing that I had not packed my wave board I rigged my new 4.5. As I got into the water I was worried my board would battle with a 4.5 but as the water was flat, what a hoolie of a session. The sail was awsome and really suprised me with its control and speed. As the tide dropped the water got flatter and flatter and I thought about Al and wondered how fast his spunik really was. I am sure he would have had a hoot had he stayed. Even my board was putting in some impressive speeds and would have been intersting to see the speed difference. For the first session of the year, what a blast and worth a full 5 big ones. Hopefully the Easter bunny brings plenty wind this comming weekend.
